FLORIAN MAGNUS MAIER is one of the most prolific young composers in the Netherlands. A cum laude graduate of the Rotterdam Conservatory, his music is performed all over the world, and earned him a.o. the Paul Jacobs Memorial Award, two Tanglewood fellowships and nominations for the Gaudeamusprize and the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers. As arranger, he worked with a.o. Devin Townsend and Paradise Lost. Next to his bands Alkaloid, Noneuclid, The Hungry Gods and Dark Fortress, Maier works with leading ensembles and orchestras such as the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Metropole Orchestra and the Asko, Doelen and Nieuw Ensembles. One of the highlights in past seasons include a composition for the world renowned concertseries NTR Zaterdagmatinee at the Royal Concertgebouw. Recent compositions were written for concerthall De Doelen in Rotterdam, as well as for the Dutch National Opera and arranging work for the Royal Concertgebouworchestra.
